House of Culture & Art with Third place approach

Aragma
/aːraɣma/

(n.) Relating to the small joys of life, and specifically the activity of ‘chilling’. For Greeks ‘aragma’ obviously takes place in houses with friends, but also in coffee places.

Aragma as a modern cultural center uses a third-place approach to achieve the best architectural answer in making a space for people and artists to get closer through social activities and art.
The absence of such places and the poor performance of the existing ones in establishing effective social interactions in Shahrak-e gharb were the intentions of designing a public, inclusive, and multifunctional space.

This project contains three art galleries connected through a library, a workshop, a store, a theater hall, a multiactivity outdoor plaza, as well as a multi-purpose roof terrace with a great view of the city.
The architecture allows visitors to easily walk between different areas by outdoor walkways, corridors, ramps, and stairs without getting interrupted by walls.

The multifarious circulation within the center is designed to visually connect all parts of project so that people can be seen activating the different areas of the building while also making curiosity to invite others to get involved with new activities and interact with each other.
Terracota is used as the dominant color to specify some functions or divide some areas from others in different parts of the project. familiar material of rustic brick and wood beside light gray concrete and microcement makes a simple pallet to fit the modest and minimalistic architectural form.
